This adorable robot buggy cleans beach butts
A Little Robot That Cleans the Beach, One Butt at a Time An AI beach buggy named BeachBot has a very specific mission: cleaning up after smokers. No, it's not Wall-E. Its name is BeachBot, and it's on a mission to make beaches cleaner, one butt at a time. Cigarette butt, that is. The BeachBot robot, or BB for short, uses artificial intelligence (AI) to focus its artificial eyes on one thing—cigarette butts. The beach rover, measuring about 2.5 feet wide, plucks cigarette butts out of the sand with its two gripper arms and deposits them into an on-board storage compartment...
Supercharging My Tesla by Towing at 70MPH for 25 miles
I tow my Tesla with another car while using full regenerative braking at 70 mph for 25 miles, at this speed the batteries are being charged at 65,000 Watts, I did not think this is going to work as well as it did but turns out this might be an option for a lot of Tesla owners if they get stranded.
VASIMR VX-200SS Plasma Rocket Completes Record 88-hour High-power Endurance Test
Ad Astra Rocket Company’s VASIMR® VX-200SS Plasma Rocket has completed 88 hours of continuous operation at 80 kW at the company’s Texas laboratory near Houston. In doing so, the company establishes a new high-power world endurance record in electric propulsion. The test also demonstrates the maturity of the VASIMR® engine technology as a competitive option for high-power in-space electric propulsion with either solar or nuclear electric power. Electric rockets operating above 50 kW/thruster are considered “high-power.” The test began at 12:50 pm (CST) last Monday July 12 and ended Friday, July 16 at 4:55 am (CST). The firing stopped only...
