SpaceX is targeting Saturday for the second flight of Starship. The company has received regulatory approval for the flight. The flight will feature the newly added hot staging ring, allowing the Ship to separate from the Booster while the Booster engines are still firing. The stack features multiple upgrades compared to the first flight, including 63 upgrades SpaceX submitted to the FAA to mitigate issues from the first flight. Ahead of the launch, SpaceX will close the road, evacuate the village and surrounding area, and clear the potential blast radius. Booster 9 will attempt a soft splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico, while Ship 25 will attempt to fly around the earth before performing a reentry and hard splashdown in the Hawaiian area. Window Opens: November 18th at 7AM CST (13:00 UTC) Window Closes: November 18th at 7:20AM CST (13:20 UTC) Mission: Starship's second fully integrated test flight Vehicles: Booster 9 and Ship 25 Recovery: No recovery. Booster will attempt soft splashdown, Ship will not and instead will impact the ocean Stats: · SpaceX's 85th launch of the year and the 6th launch of the month · SpaceX's 2nd space launch from Starbase · Starship will, once again, become the largest, most massive, and most powerful rocket every created breaking its own record. Another set of space updates my friends, and of course stealing the limelight on all fronts was SpaceX. It may have been the lead up to Starship’s Orbital Flight Test 2 with Booster 9 and Ship 25 do you think? Anyway, it was all set to go, but now a brand new setback. The Starship launch has just been delayed! Is this an easy fix? Yes, there is a very good reason why this video has been released a little earlier this week. This didn’t stop them launching a plethora of Falcon 9 rockets in the meantime. Lots to jump into there, plus a bunch of other updates from the wider landscape that is commercial space, hold on tight! The next few days are going to be wild. 😍 Artists of Spaceflight - 2024 STARSHIP CALENDAR ✨ https://tinyurl.com/2024-Starship-Calendar 👕Like this shirt? SpaceX is pushing hard to launch the second spaceflight of its Starship rocket this week. A few days after being reunited with Booster 9, Ship 25 was de-stacked on Monday. It is now standing next to Super Heavy B9, with crew lifts nearby. As expected, SpaceX has been working on the TPS (Thermal Protection System) of ship 25, which lost some tiles lately. The TPS will be a very important part of the upcoming flight if Ship 25 completes more than halfway through its journey. The TPS will be a very important part of the upcoming flight when SpaceX achieves sending it to orbit and back. In fact, the rocket will attempt to fly around the Earth and then drop into the ocean in a major test. The tile is part of Starship's Thermal Protection System (TPS) which is a collection of around 18,000 hexagonal ceramic tiles on one side of the craft, also known as 'Starbricks.' The tiles are capable of withstanding extreme heat of over 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit. Because stainless-steel is already heat resistant, Starship only has a heat shield on one side for extra protection when it reenters Earth's atmosphere with the ‘belly-flop’ maneuver at high speed. The tiles are hexagonal to ensure there is no straight path through which hot gas could accelerate through the gaps. Besides repairs on the TPS, Booster 9& Ship 25 are also thoroughly tested on all components to be ready for its big launch day! The Raptor is a big part that needs special attention there. SpaceX upgraded many on Raptor after the last flight. ''The second flight test will debut a hot-stage separation system and a new electronic Thrust Vector Control (TVC) system for Super Heavy Raptor engines, in addition to reinforcements to the pad foundation and a water-cooled steel flame deflector, among many other enhancements,'' SpaceX says on its website. Yeah, in one way or another, the OLM is also responsible for getting this thing off the ground this week. It's also one of OFT 1's biggest problems, so SpaceX needs to be ready for it as well. I hope, this time, it will be okay! ---- We use images and content in accordance with the YouTube Fair Use copyright guidelines: https://www.youtube.com/intl/en/about/copyright/fair-use/ Any questions about copyright please send us via Gmail: colonbina25@gmail.com To be resolved, thank you.
